BIOENERGY ENGINEERING 2009 AWARDS

BIOENERGY COMPANY OF THE YEAR AWARD

Biofuels, produced in a sustainable manner, has significant potential to curb petrofuel consumption and,

concomitantly, help reduce the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Biofuel production – depending on

how it is produced – may actually become part of the problem rather than the solution. In its commitment to support

and encourage the design of responsible and sustainable production processes for biofuels, the Bioenergy

Engineering 2009 Conference awards the Bioenergy Company of the Year Award to a company that produces biofuels

in a manner that is energy and environmentally sustainable, technically efficient and economically profitable.

ELIGIBILITY FOR BIOENERGY COMPANY OF THE YEAR

Any company which produces biofuels is eligible to be nominated for the award. The principal selection criteria

for the award include biofuel process efficiency, sustainability and profitability.

BIOENERGY PIONEER AWARDS – 4 Individual Awards

The Bioenergy Pioneer Awards will be awarded to 4 individuals, each from a different sector (academic institution, private enterprise, federal laboratory or agency, public service), representing bioenergy engineering.  The individuals should each have demonstrated extraordinary contribution to either research, design, administration, or advocacy for the promotion of bioenergy in the society.

ELIGIBILITY FOR PIONEER AWARDS

The individual should be a member of a learned, professional, or trade Society and currently active in the

bioenergy industry.

NOMININATIONS & SUBMISSION OF AWARD APPLICATION

Please review the following pages which include an application for each of the award categories.  Applications must be received no later than October 1, 2009 and should be submitted via email to Sharon McKnight at mcknight@asabe.org.

LOCATION OF AWARD RECOGNITION

The awardees will be recognized at the Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 during the 2009 Bioenergy Engineering Conference.  The award is purely honorific and is without monetary reward.
